Born in Portland and raised in Clackamas, Marisa Moneyhun is an Oregonian through and through. After graduating from Clackamas High School, Marisa earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oregonin Eugene, Oregon. She earned her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and passed the Oregon Bar on her first attempt in 2007.
Upon passing the bar exam, Marisa worked as a contract attorney until she was hired as a judicial clerk at the Multnomah County Courthouse. There, she clerked for the Honorable Judge Dale Koch until his retirement. She then clerked for the Honorable Judge Karin Immergut.
After leaving the courthouse she successfully served as a Volunteer District Attorney with Multnomah County. When her stint with Multnomah County ended, she volunteered as a Cooperating Attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon.
Marisa believes that community involvement is a paramount duty of a practicing attorney. She is an active member of the Oregon Women Lawyers, and paddles on its dragon boat team, the Dragon Flies. She served on OWLS Annual Dress for Success Fashion Show Fundraiser committee for several years, and is also on two committees for the Oregon State Bar. Marisa has also coached students on Jefferson High School’s Mock Trial Team, and volunteered with St. Andrew’s Legal Clinic.
